Educating our Youth During COVID-19
Georgia’s 1.7 million K-12 public school students are returning for another year of classes – but as COVID-19 continues to impact our state, hundreds of thousands of students are learning through digital and distance-learning platforms.
As the philanthropic arm of the Georgia Department of Education, GFPE continues to work to provide access to digital devices and broadband – and other support services – to the students who need us most.
During the past several months, our COVID-19 Response Fund – made possible through a partnership with the Innovation Fund Foundation – provided up to $10,000 for Georgia schools and districts to mitigate the long-term impacts of the pandemic. In addition, through GFPE’s Rural Education Fund, schools and districts in rural parts of the state received grants of up to $5,000 to support projects that improve student outcomes.
We are grateful for the donors and partners who have helped us mitigate the challenges Georgia’s students and families are facing – but the need is still large.
We need your donation to ensure that every student has access to learning opportunities this fall. Please contribute now to support our Fund for Digital Devices and Connectivity, which will provide digital devices to students around the state. We look forward to publicizing your gift in a way that is meaningful to you.
Thank you for your continued support of Georgia’s children and public schools!
